7 years ago i was ready.
I had saved $800.
I had polished up 6 songs.
and had scheduled an appointment at the cheapest recording studio in town.
I woke with smiles, loaded up my truck with keyboard & guitar, and drove down bluff street.
The door was locked?
hmmm.
Luckily, i had my brick nokia cellphone all charged up. [that was rare]
I called.
No answer.
hmmm.
I called his home.
No answer.
I drove to the Shell and got a Coke and and candybar hoping the sugar would hold back my tears.
I had been working 3 jobs and saving every penny I could.
I drove around for a few hours, crying, calling again and again, singing, cussing then I went home and swore I would never call him again.
That was my first recording studio heartbreak.
it just wasnt time...
and it was fortunate that I had that money saved because I kept getting speeding tickets, then got my license suspended, then got fired from jobs cause i couldnt get rides to work or i would ride my bike and be late cuz i was fat and slow, it was a very dark time for me.
Well, in two days I am trying again.
Saturday morning. 10.a.m.
This time at The Studio in Hurricane.
This Time it is Time.
