7 years ago i was ready.
I had saved $800.
I had polished up 6 songs.
and had scheduled an appointment at the cheapest recording studio in town.
I woke with smiles, loaded up my truck with keyboard & guitar, and drove down bluff street.
The door was locked?
hmmm.
Luckily, i had my brick nokia cellphone all charged up. [that was rare]
I called.
No answer.
hmmm.
I called his home.
No answer.
I drove to the Shell and got a Coke and and candybar hoping the sugar would hold back my tears.
I had been working 3 jobs and saving every penny I could.
I drove around for a few hours, crying, calling again and again, singing, cussing then I went home and swore I would never call him again.
That was my first recording studio heartbreak.
it just wasnt time...
and it was fortunate that I had that money saved because I kept getting speeding tickets, then got my license suspended, then got fired from jobs cause i couldnt get rides to work or i would ride my bike and be late cuz i was fat and slow, it was a very dark time for me.
Well, in two days I am trying again.
Saturday morning. 10.a.m.
This time at The Studio in Hurricane.
This Time it is Time.

Code Breaker
I grew up in Arizona and Utah. [all over the Mesa and Saint George Vally's]
My family moved a lot. and I attended a new Elementary School for every grade.
I didnt have a ton of friends cuz I was always the strange new girl. but in 3rd grade I had a neighbor friend named Andrew. He was my bud. We jumped on a tramp with a giant hole, battled with nerf light sabers, and had a dirt fort with buried tin can treasures. He was my first best friend and life was good. but he did something real stupid once. He invited another GIRL to play with us...and I was pissed. I wrote this little song about it.
Did you have a best bud that you didnt know was more than a best bud till he broke your heart?
Code Breaker by Lyndy Butler
[My sister Lacey and I recorded this in a few minutes at Talent Sprouts, its simple but sweet.]
This is the song I played for the Sound Check Series Showcase and I won the big prize.
and I also played it to audition for Dixie's Got Talent a few weeks ago. I made the call backs and have another audition Tomorrow night. My hands are getting sweaty already thinking about another audition. whoa boy.

Meat Market
This was one of my very first songs.
Its silly.
One day, while working out at the fitness center at Dixie State College I over heard a 'sweetbrobeefcake' ask a 'Hottiewithabody' to feel his pec. I laughed so hard I almost fell off the treadmill. I went home and wrote this little number.
Sorry that my Rockwell is screaming at the end.
He just wanted to be in the VID.
